As well as the usual quilts and other textile items, refreshments, sales table and raffle; the highlight is the group’s ‘Hexi Quilt’. This was a group rencontre like no other! About 16,000 1/2 inch hexagons have been English paper pieced, hand stitched and hand quilted by 30 members of the group. A real victory in dedication, time and commitment. The eyeful that I am surrounded by every day has inspired me to take up painting and creating images that are not only inspired from scenes of the town and country side but moreover the moments shared between the life here whether it be human or animal. I enjoy looking at images from past and present and when I see an image I like I try to create my own version of it.
